I thought about the best way to start this without getting overwhelmed in the backlog of all the music I have discovered in the last 5-10 years (the music I listened to before that is not really something I care about any more) and I think I have the solution.
Non-linear posting about music from the last few years split with music I just found or new releases from artists I've been following for a while. That way I fill you all in on things that have become my musical foundation without putting off writing about the new things as well.
Nothing will be in any sort of order because that's just not how my brain or life works so why try to make it conform to a timeline or order? You need new music, I'm gonna get it to you ASAP.
8 song playlist for Maude Latour and MUNA
My current obsession songs are Green Tea demo by Maude Latour and So What by MUNA.
I've been listening to both artists for a few years but these two songs are a recent addition and I can't get enough of them.
Green Tea (Demo)

Green Tea came out Oct 2025 and I completely missed it until last month. The driving drums and synth that demand you listen to it and the combo of airy, hopeful chorus and being-alive-in-current-day tone of the verses is perfection.
I've never able to choose a favorite anything, but one of the lines I like a lot is "I feel so good that I don't even check my phone".
Musically, the little noise that sounds like a belt slipping on a car for a split second or some machinery cutting in and out really sparks the right neurons when combined with the rest of the layers. This is a back to back to back song for me when it comes on.
My other favorite songs from Maude are Officially Mine, Cursed Romantics, and Lola (included in the YouTube playlist above). "I made a wish last night, you were officially mine".
So What

Even if you don't occupy the sphere of queer/lesbian pop that I live in 90% of the time, it was hard to miss MUNA and Phoebe Bridgers yelling Silk Chiffon at us in 2022 and now my next stuck-on-repeat song from them is "So What".
The drum beat immediately grabs your attention similar to Green Tea and offers a interesting change from the usual pop beat. The lush soundscape provides plenty of space for the vocal layers playing back and forth with each other and makes me want the song to go on for 20 minutes. That's what repeat is for.
My other favorites from MUNA are on the playlist as well and include Wannabeher, Dancing on the Wall, and I Know a Place.
There is also a fantastic performance on NPR's Tiny Desk you can watch here:
We Did It Girl!
