April is almost over and I'm adding more music to my yearly playlist every day. This episode of girlyPopp will be a quick touch on some of my favorite songs that have come out this year or that I have discovered recently.
Some of my favorites so far are already covered in the first three episodes (I know its an article, let me have it), so you're up to speed on those already. Some others will be skipped because I want to go into more detail on them.
19 Songs for you!

MEEK
First song on the 2026 playlist was "Fabulous" by Meek. Literally turns you gay at 38 seconds in. What's not to love about this anthem? Slay to be slayed queen.

Sabrina Shauna
I instinctively want to skip the beginning of "Liar, Liar" because of my aversion to children, but if you stick it out past the opener, this (and all her other songs) are silky smooth goodness.

AESPA
Nothing new here, my relationship with K Pop has been long standing, but "Better Things" ended up back in my rotation in January and I can't get enough. I do NOT have better things to do with my time than you.

Avamarie
Continuing the R&B smoothness, I was introduced to Avamarie and can't get enough of "Vital" and "Honey". The delivery of the line "Original one on fire" does something to my little brain cells.

Caroline Red
I discovered her through "MODERN LOVE" but the song I have been playing too much is "ROLLWITIT".

ÊMIA
I'll be honest with you, I haven't listened to anything else by them yet, but I don't skip "Gut Feeling" when it comes up on the playlist. "Uh oh, nothing hits harder than a gut feeling".

Sophia Stel
Last year's playlist featured "I'll Take It" and this year's playlist gets "All Seven Seasons". My favorite line is "I'm usually out of touch, but this time I'm right and I'm calling your bluff".

Bonf1r3
Another gift from my carefully sculpted TikTok feed last year was "Dangerous" by Bonf1r3 and this year's new release is "Gonna Be My Year". Its not a hope, its a demand.

Maddie Regent
The dreamy-to-upbeat "Fountain of Youth/man is a knife" definitely reminds me of some other things, but I'm not here for comparisions, I'm just enjoying good music. She split off "Man is a knife" into a separate song this year which I also really like.

Blusher
Illegally downloaded, low-res copies of UK Skins episodes rush back to me with Blusher's "don't look at me like that - jade's version" and I can't get enough.

SASAMI
My first exposure to SASAMI was a year or two ago with "Make It Right". This year "Honeycrash" and "Slugger" are in the spotlight. A darker, driving synth with silky smooth vocals makes their music hard to ignore.

beabadoobee
I honestly can't remember what songs of hers I like from the past, but I came across the sickeningly sweet and nostalgic vibes of "Beaches" and was hooked.

Ally Salort
Listen, I am burdened with a full time job (daily!) so sometimes it takes me a while to go back and follow up with some of the artists I add to my playlists. Ally Salort's "I've Never Met Her" definitely makes me want to go listen to all of her other music.

Alexa Cappelli
Another one I'm guilty of not exploring yet but "No Happy End" is all the stages of enlightenment from that one meme as a song.

TRINITY
I have been following since I found "ooh bby bby" (I think I referred to it as Goosebump's core) and this year's playlist has "u & i" and "eventually" in regular rotation. Trinity's music is a darker, driving synth atmosphere with 80s influence.

ADÉLA
We started out "Fabulous" and we are going to end on "KGB". "You want a popstar with a big bra for them big hits?" Call me the K-G-Bitch.
We Did it Girl!
I hope you enjoy this quick check-in! I think I will make a habit of posting these in between the other style articles to avoid perfectionist paralysis and keep all my girlies supplied with music. 💜
